Crossing the Rue Grande (N6) - Avenue de Berlin crossroads
Pedestrian friends of SHAPE and elsewhere, we remind you that Rue Grande is a busy road where motorists travel at a relatively high speed (+/- 70km/h).
For your safety, it is preferable to lose two minutes and use the "protected" crossings as well as to respect the light lights.
Moreover, the Royal Decree of 01/12/1975 (the Highway Code) says the following:
Article 42.4.1. Pedestrians must cross the roadway perpendicular to its axis; they cannot linger there, nor stop there without necessity.
When there is a pedestrian crossing at a distance of less than about 20 meters, pedestrians are required to use it.
Pedestrians may not obstruct traffic unnecessarily on the crossing sidewalks as defined in Article 2.40.
Article 42.4.2. In places with two-color traffic lights for pedestrians, pedestrians may not enter the carriageway until the signs allow them to do so..
Failure to comply with these articles may result in the drafting of a report for 1st degree offences. It can then, depending on the 2025 tariff, cost you 116 EUR + 10.42 EUR administrative fees.
