Loss or theft of your vehicle registration card

Report the loss/theft as soon as possible to the police office of your choice.

The declaration of theft/loss of the registration certificate must be made by the owner of the vehicle.

You will have to present your vehicle when reporting the theft/loss so that the police can check the vehicle.

Following this declaration, you will receive a certificate to give to your insurance company and to the Directorate of Vehicle Registration (DIV) (The link is in French or Dutch only)

After filing your declaration, you can go to the Registry Office (Bldg 210) to start the process with the DIV to obtain a duplicate of your registration certificate.
