Loss or theft of your licence plate

You must file a complaint with the police. You will receive a certificate of loss or theft. You will have to send this certificate with the "Application for vehicle registration" form by post to the Federal Public Service for Mobility and Transport.

Don't hit the road without a license plate!

After a few days, you will receive a new proof of registration and a new license plate.

If you have only lost the reproduction of your plate, you can make a new copy.

After filing your declaration, you can go to the Registry Office (Bldg 210) to start the process with the DIV to obtain a new registration for your vehicle.
