On December 14, 2023, Angel Anibal GUEVARA RODRIGUEZ, together with 2 other defendants, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the court of assizes of Flemish Brabant for the manslaughter of Walter VOORDECKERS.

The court of assizes ruled that the crime committed should be considered a crime against humanity under international law.
