SHAPE Village inauguration
The project to rebuild the SHAPE village has been completed. The SHAPE and Belgian authorities inaugurated these brand new accommodations before soon breaking ground on the new Headquarters.

On 3rd June 2026, NATO and Belgium officially inaugurated the new housing at the SHAPE Village in Mons, marking a major milestone in the modernization of the military headquarters residential infrastructure.
In the presence of high-level authorities, including SACEUR, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever and Defense Minister Theo Francken, this investment underlines Belgium's enduring commitment to the Alliance.
The project aims to provide modern, safe and sustainable living conditions for military personnel, civilians and their families.
Members of the Protection Directorate/SHAPE of the Federal Police, but also other entities such as the K9 Support and the Directorate of Public Security, as well as the International Military Police also actively contributed to the organization and smooth running of this event; testifying to their commitment to the service of the international community.
