STAVELOT, 25/07/2023 - On 28, 29 and 30 July, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will thrill to the engines' roars of F1 and other racing cars. As in previous years, the mission of the police is to ensure the smooth running of the event, to guarantee the safety of everyone and to facilitate access to and from the circuit.

STAVELOT, 17-08-2022 - The F1 Grand Prix will take place in Belgium at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on August 26, 27 and 28, 2022. The event - which has been sold out for weeks - has long been awaited by the Belgian and foreign public, who are eager to see the mythical spectacle of the F1 cars and other racing cars that will take to the track over the three days.

Police ask visitors to refrain from coming by car

LEUVEN, 22/09/2021. – Next weekend, from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 September, the road races of the World Cycling Championships will take place. The route runs from Antwerp to Leuven, with a passage along the so-called 'Flandrien loop' in the 'Druivenstreek' (Grape Region). The police expect tens of thousands of spectators at and around the start and finish locations and along the route. This will have a major impact on the road network. Therefore, all spectators are asked to come by train, bicycle or on foot as much as possible and refrain from coming by car.

Spa-Francorchamps – 08/28/2021 - The weather conditions and the heavy rain that has been falling since Friday are rapidly deteriorating the state of some of the car parks around the circuit. Alternative car parks will be opened for spectators of the Grand Prix this Sunday.

After the previous edition which took place behind closed doors, 75 000 spectators per day will have the opportunity to attend the Francorchamps Formula 1 Grand Prix on 27, 28 and 29 August 2021. The Federal Police and the Local Police, in collaboration with all partners involved, will ensure the smooth running of this event. Information on how to get to the site and prevention tips will be published by the Federal Police in four languages on its Twitter account @BelPoliceEvent.

From 22 June onwards, the Railway Police (SPC) will be taking part in a coordinated awareness campaign at European level. Throughout the summer, the campaign aims to alert travellers to the phenomenon of pickpocketing and theft in and around railway stations and trains/trams/metros. The campaign is brought to life by six little monsters, each of which portray a frequently occurring modus operandi. We speak to Chief Inspector Carlo Cerchi of the Brussels Railway Police. He offers us a glimpse of how pickpockets operate and gives tips on how to stop them in their tracks.

The Belgian Railway Police (SPC) will take part in a coordinated European awareness campaign from 22 June 2021. The campaign aims to alert passengers to the phenomenon of trick theft and pickpocketing in the railway environment. The campaign’s eye-catchers are six little monsters, each of which in turn depicts a common modus operandi. The campaign will remain visible throughout the summer and will be given extra emphasis during attractive events such as the European Football Championship.
