Request a police watch during your holidays?

Surveillance policière vacances

Are you planning a stay in Belgium or abroad or will you be away for a long time?

Make sure your home is not a target for burglars.

There are simple prevention measures to put in place, but the police can keep an eye on your home while you're away. This service is free of charge.

How do I request home surveillance?

  • By filling out the form in the appendix below.
  • Via police-on-web (only in French, Dutch or German AND only if you have a Belgian identity card).
  • By picking up a form at the SHAPE Federal Police main station.
  • The completed form must be sent at least 5 working days before your departure.

While you're away, the police regularly pass by your home, day and night. When problems or irregularities are detected, the Police will contact the people you have named in your application.

If nothing abnormal is noted, a report of the various passages will be sent to you by post after your return.

Check out our checklist of things to do or check before you go on holiday.

You can also contact our Community Policing Officer (065/44 9231) for advice on protecting your home from theft.
