Heat wave: Police order from the State Governor of Hainaut

The Governor of the Province of Hainaut has issued a police order due to the extreme heat, drought, and high risk of fire.

The following are prohibited:

🔸 Lighting open fires;

🔸 Using wood or charcoal barbecues in public areas, except with the Mayor's authorization;

🔸 Lighting campfires, except for cooking fires at camps organized by youth groups;

🔸 Using thermal weed killers, except in specific cases;

🔸 Launching sky lanterns;

🔸 Discarding burning objects or pieces of glass in nature;

🔸 Setting off fireworks without authorization.

 This order is effective immediately until July 20th inclusive (subject to possible justified adaptation/extension/early repeal).

Failure to comply with these measures may result in penalties.
